How to find my Airpods using Find My or iCloud
Find My can help you locate your AirPods if you already have it set up on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac that you’re using with them.
In my case, I was not able to utilize Find My functionality in order to find my AirPods if I didn’t enable it before they went missing. In order to turn on the network of the Find My app, you should follow the next steps:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Choose your name, then Find My.
- Choose Find My [device], then enable Find My [device].
- Don’t forget to turn on “Find My Network.”
Once set, you can play a sound in order to hep you find your Airpods from iCloud.com or Find My app.
- Open the app called Find My
- Select the tab called Devices
- Choose your AirPods and tap “Play Sound”
If you have an iPhone 12 or later, you may enable proximity alerts to ensure that your AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max are not left in an unexpected area. You can also include exceptions (eg. your home).
How to find my Airpods on Android Devices
There are several ways to locate your Apple AirPods using an Android smartphone. I recomend using the Wunderfind app from the Google Play Store.
You may also manually search for it using a Bluetooth scanner application on your device.
Find my Airpods using an Android app
The Wunderfind app, with its device radar and distance scoring capabilities, is arguably my favorite way to find my AirPods.
Follow these steps to locate your lost AirPod using Wunderfind:
- Install the Wunderfind app from the Google Play Store.
- Allow the app to use location services.
- Activate Bluetooth if it is not already enabled.
- Tap the name of the device you want to find. In this situation, Apple AirPods. This will activate the gadget radar.
- Continue to move around until you discover the AirPod. It will tell you how close you are to finding your Airpods.
Using the Wunderfind App on Android, you may also let your AirPods sound a loud beep to help you find them. This functionality requires the Pro edition of the app.
Find my Airpods using Bluetooth
Bluetooth Scanner could be an excellent choice (even if the app is not user-friendly) when trying to use a Bluetooth scanner app for finding your Airpods.
You may use this Bluetooth scanner app to locate any nearby Bluetooth devices by following the next steps:
- Install the app from Google Play Store
- Launch the app
- Allow the app to access your Bluetooth services and accept any extra permission needed by the app
- Connect to your Bluetooth device
- At the bottom of the app, you should press “Start”. Once done, the interface should show your devices.
- Tap “Device Finder” and you will notice a graph with a dBM value. The idea is to get this to zero by moving about until it does
This software may also be used by Android users to ring the lost AirPods. In order to do that, you may simply switch on the “Play sound” toggle.
